A small, young, and dynamic team motivated by our shared passion for Colombia. We have thrived as a team though the challenging global pandemic and we are eager to put all of our knowledge and skills toward servicing like-minded partners.

Dream Team
Rodrigo and Juliana share a similar story. Both had an early start in the travel industry as tour guides in their hometowns of Bogotá and Cartagena. Over the last 10 years, Juliana enhanced her experience as owner and manager of a DMC while Rodrigo grew Impulse Travel into a leading sustainable travel startup and marketplace for meaningful experiences.
The pandemic opened up a lot of room for innovation and presented an opportunity to build better. In November 2020, Rodrigo and Juliana merged their companies, giving birth to IMPULSE DMC.
Rodrigo Atuesta
Rodrigo is a serial social entrepreneur and world traveler born and raised in Bogotá Colombia. After college, he set off to travel the world solo for a year, discovering along the way that his home country had huge untapped potential for meaningful travel.
He co-owns Impulse, a local experiences provider that offers immersive travel experiences and supports Colombia’s social transformation. Impulse is now a leading travel brand in Colombia and works with the private sector, government, and institutions to advance Colombia's regenerative travel agenda.
Rodrigo also serves as chairman of Acotur, Colombia’s sustainable tourism association and he helped to co-found Tierra Firme, a coworking space and platform for social entrepreneurs and creatives, and Collective Impulse, a non-profit that works with communities to strengthen social entrepreneurship at a local level.
Juliana Medina
Juliana is a social entrepreneur in the tourism sector born and raised in Cartagena, Colombia. After living in Germany and traveling to many countries, Juliana started her career in the tourism industry as a tour guide to help pay for her degree in finance. Unexpectedly, she fell in love with the job.
She later became co-owner and CEO of I Show You Colombia, a DMC on the Caribbean coast focused on the European market, using her guiding experience to build a community of passionate and knowledgeable tour guides and to create flawless operations that prioritize responsible practices.
In 2020, she merged her company and became co-owner of Impulse Travel. At Impulse, she contributes her expertise and chips away at her bigger dream of being part of the social transformation and peace building in Colombia one tour at a time.
Juliana also serves as a financial advisor for young social entrepreneurs looking to achieve financial sustainability.
